Crusader Kings 3 Battles Now in Bannerlord Thanks to Ambitious Mod
Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord and Crusader Kings 3 as one game? Modders have made this combination as possible.
- A mod enabling us to play out battles from Crusader Kings 3 in Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord has been released;
- Crusader Blade converts values from CK3 at launch in a 3D environment, where we can participate in person;
- For now the mod does not offer sieges and duels.
Crusader Kings 3 is an incredibly complex strategy game that enables players to control the fate of a chosen medieval dynasty. During the game we plot, feast, negotiate and fight countless battles. Unfortunately, we can only observe the clashes from a distance. We send an army with certain stats against enemy troops and witness how the numbers representing the number of soldiers gradually decrease.
According to some players, this element is not very attractive from a gameplay perspective. So a group of modders decided to improve it, and the way to do this was to combine Crusader Kings 3 with Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord. They made both games run simultaneously, and the battles visible on the world map in CK3 allow our participation in person in a 3D environment.

The creators called their mod Crusader Blade and it is a truly unique achievement. Every standard clash of two armies in Crusader Kings 3 can be transferred to Mount & Blade. One button enables us to convert the values from Paradox Interactive's title to a battle in TaleWorlds' game. Not only stats, but also our skills can influence the outcome.
Unfortunately, the creators of the mod had to introduce some restrictions. Players hoping for epic clashes of armies numbering tens of thousands of people will be disappointed. The mod preserves the proportions between the forces of both sides of the clash, but reduces the number of soldiers participating in it.
Another limitation is the fact that not all units present in CK3 are available in Mount & Blade. Replacements have been introduced in their place. Another thing is that we won't be able to participate sieges and duels. Currently, the mod also supports only the basic version of Crusader Kings 3.
However, the creators announced that they are working on introducing additional features to their work. With time, the mod will be improved and enable us to play even more CK3 battles via Bannerlord, but it's worth to give it a chance even as it is now. Crusader Blade can be downloaded from the devs' official website.
