In the past month, Hunt Showdown had some issues. The biggest problem was definitely a new UI, which was far from ideal. The new design turned out to be so bad that players started review bombing the game. Now, the situation looks much better. UI fixes and brand-new circus event, created in collaboration with Post Malone, have calmed angry voices. So, if you are back to Hunt (or simply bought the title in Steam Winter Sale), you may want to look for friends to play with. However, does the game feature crossplay.

Crossplay in Hunt Showdown 1896 (PC, Xbox, PS5) Explained

Hunt Showdown 1896 is a team game. Of course, you can play alone, but it is much more fun when you have companions. However, this causes a problem. What if your friends own the game on different platforms? If you all have console copies, you don’t need to worry. The games offer crossplay between Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.

In case you have PC copy and your friends play on consoles, then you won't be able to form a team. Hunt Showdown 1896 doesn’t support this type of crossplay. It is not a surprise, given the difference in accuracy in movement control between a mouse and a gamepad.

Moreover, if you decide to buy an extra copy of the game for a different device, you must bear in mind that Hunt Showdown does not support cross-progression. So, you will start from the beginning. If you care about skins and event progress, this is a far from ideal solution, but the only way for now.
