Coronavirus Turned IEM 2020 Into a Ghost Championship
Coronavirus turned IEM 2020 into a ghost competition. Gamepressure reporter is on site and sending photos of empty rooms and corridors.
The IEM 2020 held in Katowice, Poland, closed to the public at last minute, has turned into an empty ghost event. Once filled to the brim, the big e-sports event is the first major event so severely impacted by the coronavirus outbreak. One of our reporters present on the spot sent us pictures of the empty rooms and corridors of the venue, where the event takes place (thank you HANK! http://thefairwanderer.com/).
A few hours before the beginning of the event, IEM 2020 informed that the local authorities decided that the event can’t be attended by the public because of coronavirus. For now, it’s difficult to estimate the extent of losses of the organizers and partners.
