CoD: Cold War and Warzone Gets Zombie Mode in Season 2
Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War season 2 launches today. Along with it, a new zombie mode will be added to CoD: Warzone, albeit only for a limited time.
Apparently only death and taxes are certain, but gamers could expand the list considerably. The next installments in the Call of Duty franchise and the inevitable return of zombies would certainly be on it. The undead will arrive with the second season of Warzone and Black Ops - Cold War as part of the Outbreak event. It will only be available until March 11 for purchasers of the newer of those games, so players have two weeks to earn all the associated rewards. If you're playing as part of the free Warzone, you only have until March 4.
The information is not a surprise to anyone after the leaks so far. The descriptions of the tasks required to earn new business cards introduced in yesterday's update spoke of the need to eliminate zombies. Even earlier, in the description of the second season, there was a mention of the ship Vodianoy, with which communication was lost. Mention of a vessel with "unknown cargo" also appeared in the game itself and suggested that the ship was heading to Verdansk. Players guessed that with the arrival of Vodianoy, the city would be overrun by a virus that would turn its inhabitants into zombies. Finally, on February 22, a trailer for the event appeared, which left no doubt about its nature.
The Outbreak will offer the opportunity to earn 18 unique items, including business cards, emblems and stickers. Each of these requires the completion of a different challenge, boiling down to either eliminating zombies or completing mission objectives. All of this must be done within the newly introduced Outbreak mode, in which a team of players face off against hordes of zombies. These and other features (including new weapons: FARA 83 and LC10) will appear in Warzone and Black Ops - Cold War with the launch of Season 2..
