Chrome Will Get New Browsing History, What Does This Mean?

Google says it's working on experimental features for the Chrome browser. One of them will group visited pages in history to make content easier to find.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • Journeys - grouping of visited pages in Chrome;
  • Quick browsing of search results thanks to the sidebar.

The Chrome 94 browser offers several new features, but not all of them are well received by users, such as the controversial activity tracking. Google is still working on new features. Future updates may introduce several improvements, whose current status is described as experimental. We're talking about a feature called Journeys, which is categorization of visited pages in the browser's history, and a new search sidebar.

The experimental nature of the announced components does not guarantee their introduction in the final version. Although it seems to me that Chrome users could welcome significant facilitation in navigation on the list of visited websites. Sometimes, when looking for a particular thing, we browse dozens of sites, creating a list of disorderly pages in the history. Sites grouped by topic could be much clearer.

Content grouping will also have a rather important pro for some users - the ability to easily delete an entire browsing category from the browser's history. The search sidebar may come in handy for those who spend a lot of time scouring the depths of the Internet. It will display the results in a separate place - while browsing we won't have to click the back button or switch tabs.

Journeys may appear in the next release of Canary (developer version) of desktop Chrome. The search results sidebar is currently being tested in the Chrome OS developer channel.
