An expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 may be just around the corner. Developers give hope on Twitter.

Cyberpunk 2077 premiered in December 2020, and since then the game has received numerous patches, which - let's not kid ourselves - were necessary to even be able to comfortably enjoy the gameplay. To date Cyberpunk has received only minor expansion, introducing, for example, the ability to purchase apartments, new weapons or an alternative outfit for Johnny Silverhand. Unsurprisingly, players are longingly waiting for a major story expansion. CDPR teases the players with a post on Twitter, from which it may appear that a big DLC will be coming out soon.
CD Projekt RED teases DLC
In response to a post by user Varion, the profile of The Witcher and user Tostspender, who is the senior level designer at CD Projekt RED, a post appeared in which the person responsible for running Cyberpunk 2077 profile asked: "Wann Cyberpunk-Expansion?". The game's developers very rarely speak about the work on the expansion for the game, and they are probably well aware that players are anticipating such DLC. Since CDPR has decided to tease an expansion for Cyberpunk, then something may indeed be afoot.
Expansion for Cyberpunk at Gamescom?
Although the tweet consists of only three words, there may be a clue in it. It was written in German, which can only mean that it was a direct response to a post by user Varion, who is German. However, it could be a reference to the Gamescom 2022 gaming event, which will be held in Germany. It is possible that we will learn something new about the expansion at this very event. This would also make sense in view of the fact that it will start on August 24 and last until August 28, and shortly afterwards, on September 13, the premiere of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will take place, so the cyberpunk climates will synergize with each other. It could then be a similar situation to when the first season of The Witcher had a positive impact on sales of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, about which we wrote in early 2020.
