Mod Adds Cayo Perico in GTA 5 Without GTA Online

Modders come to the rescue of GTA 5. The Cayo Perico heist known from GTA Online and most of its content has been introduced to the single player mode, all thanks to a mod.

IN SHORT:

  • A modification has been created that allows you to play the Cayo Perico heist in the single player mode of GTA V.
  • In addition to the actual heist, the mod's author also ported most of the content of The Cayo Perico Heist expansion.

Late last year, the popular multiplayer mode of GTA Online received an update entitled The Cayo Perico Heist. It introduced a brand new heist, a number of missions, a new large vehicle and a lot of minor content, but most importantly a separate, large location - the island of Cayo Perico, ruled by the leader of the dangerous El Rubio cartel. Addition offered only multiplayer, but that changed thanks to a modder nicknamed HKH191, who not only moved the entire content of the expansion to a single player mode, but also allowed to play the "jump" in the skin of Michael, Franklin or Trevor.

Already now we can download the mentioned modification to test how Jump on Cayo Perico works in the basic version of the game. Apart from undertaking the robbery itself, we'll be forced to prepare for it within the framework of five missions, just as it's done in GTA Online, and even earlier to purchase on the Internet a sizable submarine Kosatka, which will serve as a place of organization of the whole undertaking.

After buying the Kosatka, which of course we have to have money for, a marker will appear on the map indicating the location of the submarine. When we go to it, we'll be able to visit its interior and on the appropriate marker begin preparations for the attack known from the multiplayer mode. After completing them we'll get the opportunity to plunder the exotic mansion of El Rubio as one of three main protagonists. Additionally, we have two options to choose from: the first, where we go to the island alone, and the second, in which we approach the heist with a group of AI-controlled allies. However, the player will still pull the strings.

Mod will certainly be a treat for fans of the standard version of GTA V or those people who simply do not like multiplayer mode. The interesting question, however, is why Rockstar's team didn't, or didn't plan to, include Cayo Perico in the base game, given that the content is so readily available in the game's files. This is evident, for example, in the ability to teleport to the island in question using a trainer - a mod that adds a so-called "cheat menu" allowing for a variety of not entirely "legal" enhancements - so the Cayo Perico files must be related in some way to those of GTA V.
