Captain of Industry is an economic strategy available in Steam Early Access released as a single-player. Will it receive a co-op mode? Here’s what we know.
Captain of Industry has gathered Overwhelmingly Positive feedback and rave reviews ever since releasing in Early Access nearly 2 years ago. The game has recently received a major update which improved many aspects of gameplay and added a map editor. However, the title remains a single-player experience. Both returning and new players alike might wonder If the developers have any plans for implementing co-op. We have an answer from the team at MaFi Games.

As of the Update 2, Captain of Industry is a single-player title, which revolves around building industry from the ground up on an abandoned island and keeping your settlement alive. The developers addressed the question of a possible co-op addition in their FAQ:
Is there going to be multiplayer?
We are focusing on a single-player experience first. However, if the community is interested, we are open to seriously consider a multiplayer after the release. Let us know what do you think!
From the answer we can glean that if multiplayer was to be added to Captain of Industry, it would only happen after the game exits Early Access and receives an official release, and that it would depend largely on the response from the fans.
How long could it take? The developers have said they expect Captain of Industry to be in early access for 2-3 years, although that is subject to change. Check out the official Steam page for more information.
