Capcom Claims Resident Evil Village is an Open World Game
If the information provided on Steam by Capcom is to be believed, the 8th installment of Resident Evil will feature an open world. Moreover, we should expect sexual content from the work.
- Capcom has added 2 new tags to Resident Evil Village card on Steam: "open world" and "sexual content";
- Twitter reports suggest that we should expect more of a metroidvania-type world structure.
The recent Resident Evil Showcase online event presented a fragment of gameplay from Resident Evil Village, and revealed its collector's edition. This resulted in a flood of new details about RE8, which encouraged fans to act and analyze individual leads. They were particularly intrigued by one element of the collector's edition - a map of the areas we'll be able to explore in the course of the game. Although many players examine it from the plot side, many wonder how we'll move around the numerous areas of the village.
Conjectures of Internet users have been confirmed by Steam, which has already added more tags to Resident Evil 8. Among them we find such unversal phrase as "open world". There's no need to explain in depth what it means. It turns out that we'll get full freedom of movement through the available areas.
A little less certain on the matter is Twitter user AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem, who regularly provides verified information on the Resident Evil series. He claims that Capcom would describe Village as more of a metroidvania, a type of game with a rather linear structure, but one that actually enables us for fairly smooth movement from one end of the map to the other.
The "sexual content" tag has also caught the curiosity of the players. This is rather not surprising information because this series has accustomed us to the images prepared largely for viewers of legal age. However, the enthusiasm of internet users was cooled down by Dusk Golem, suggesting that the nudity will appear in the form of short animations showing the behavior of vampires and spider beasts, which are far from attractive.
Resident Evill Village will launch on May 7, 2021 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
