Call of Duty Vanguard Rumored to Offer an Alternative World War II
Interesting reports about Call of Duty 2021 appeared online. According to them, the game is supposed to be a sequel to CoD WWII and will enable us to return to World War II.
It's only been four months since the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops, but many players are already wondering what this year's installment of the series will offer. An interesting set of rumors on this subject has just appeared on the web, published by the usually very well informed website Modern Warzone. According to this information, the game is currently operating under the title Call of Duty WWII: Vanguard, but this is a temporary name and is likely to change.
The important thing is that the title suggests the game's content. It is being developed as a direct sequel to 2017's Call of Duty: WWII. Modern Warzone is also certain that Sledgehammer Games is responsible for the project. Some doubts arise, however, when it comes to the setting.
Previously, Modern Warzone reported that Call of Duty 2021 will feature scenes from the 1950s, and the website still trusts the source of these reports. However, it is also confident that Call of Duty WW 2 Vanguard is a true, if temporary, title. It seems most likely that most of the action will take place during World War II, but the campaign also features bits set in the next decade. It is possible that these will only be cut-scenes. Another possible explanation given by the website is that the game will take place in an alternative reality, in which the war lasted much longer than stated by our history books.
Modern Warzone is, however, confident that the map from Call of Duty WW 2 Vanguard will make its way into Call of Duty: Warzone with this year's release. The free-to-play shooter is set to feature items, both levels and weapons, from the new main installments in the series for at least the next five years.
While waiting for the announcement of the new installment, it's worth returning to Call of Duty 2 and playing some fan-made missions.
The latest installments don't offer many possibilities in terms of mods, so creative fans create new content mainly for older parts of the series. Call of Duty 2 fans in particular have been active lately, releasing some notable single-player missions this year.
Frontline Mod recreates the beginning of the campaign from the console game Medal of Honor: Frontline on the CoD2 engine, Battle of Aachen enables us to take part in the eponymous clash, and Belarus Outpost Raid to fight on the streets of a Belarusian town.
