We all know very well howCall of Duty series was, is and will be - FPS games with usually not very extensive campaign, keeping the player's attention through various gameplay modes. The same is true of Vanguard, which, according to the reviews, does a very good job of being the eighteenth CoD.
Although the campaign is short, its diversity is an advantage. In the new installment, we fight on four fronts of World War II, playing as several different characters, each of whom has something different to offer. It is also worth mentioning that we are not dealing here with alternative history - only the chronology of battles is slightly distorted.
Apart from the campaign, we have, of course, the multiplayer mode and zombies. In the former we fight battles on twenty maps, in one of several different forms of play. The Combat Pacing mechanic, which enables us to adjust the number of players, also makes a positive impression. In addition, reviewers praise the successful implementation of some mechanics from Warzone and Modern Warfare.
As for the zombie mode, it evokes the majority of mixed feelings. Some complain that it is the most boring edition of this format so far, while others do not spare the mode any praise, although they agree on one thing - the mode does not bring much new.
Gathering all the opinions into a single sentence, Vanguard looks like a solid proposition from Sledgehammer Games, although it lacks its own character. If you want to see for yourself how the game compares, you can play it on PC, XSX, XONE, PS4 and PS5.
