Call of Duty: Vanguard Announced; Trailer Reveals Release Date
Call of Duty: Vanguard has finally been officially announced. Activision has revealed the game's release date and shared new information.
We finally lived to see it - during today's Battle for Verdansk event in Call of Duty: Warzone, which as the latest information mentioned, took place at 10:30 AM PT, Activision officially announced the next installment of the popular shooter game series. During the event the devs confirmed both the game's title and release date. Call of Duty: Vanguard will be released on November 5 on PC, PS4, PS5, XONE and XSX|S and will take us to the times of World War II. Below you can watch a fresh trailer.
Thanks to Vanguard, the Call of Duty series will return to its roots because just like in the first two installments, we will visit Stalingrad and North Africa, and once again experience the landing in Normandy. The developers were inspired not only by the events from the Western and Eastern front but also by the soldiers who took part in them. According to recent reports by Tom Henderson, the game's main character, Arthur Kingsley, will be modeled on Sidney Cornell, while the other four characters will be based on the biographies of several equally interesting historical figures. More on that can be found in our preview, to which I left a link above.
Also the presence of multiplayer and zombie modes were confirmed. The first one is to receive a separate presentation, where we'll also learn something about the new game mode - Champion Hill. However, it is already known that at the start there will be 20 maps available, destruction of walls, and varied ammunition ballistics will play an important role during the game. In turn, the zombie mode, as suggested in leaks, is once again prepared by Treyarch, which developed its counterpart in last year's Black Ops - Cold War. What's interesting, in Vanguard we are to be witnesses of events preceding those from the previous installment.
You can already pre-order Call of Duty: Vanguard. PC owners can do it here, the owners of Sony and Microsoft consoles can do it here and here. Prices start at $59.99. What's important, placing a pre-order for any version of the game will guarantee early access to the open beta tests, which will take place in September.
