New Call of Duty May Return to World War 2

According to an informant connected with the Call of Duty series, the next installment may return to World War II era. Keep in mind, however, that this is unconfirmed information.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • According to leaks, the new installment of Call of Duty will return to the World War II period;
  • The source of the information is a leaker known for publishing information about Activision's shooter;
  • For now, the leak is unconfirmed.

This year's Call of Duty may return to the theme of World War II. The information was provided by user Victor___Z on Twitter. In the case of such rumors, you always have to approach them with caution and limited trust. Admittedly, the author is known as a good source of information on Activision's shooter series. He was previously responsible for accurate leaks regarding Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone.

Victor___Z tweeted a picture of Call of Duty: WWII and a hammer emoticon. When we consider that Sledgehammer is responsible for the latest installment of the series, the enigmatic post suddenly makes sense. Apart from that, however, the user did not provide any information. This news can be linked with earlier leaks about the subtitle of this year's Call of Duty. According to Tom Henderson, it would be Guerrilla Warfare. Guerrilla warfare and World War II offer a wide range of locations where the action can take place. Some gamers have already started speculating that this marks a shift compared to Call of Duty: WWII, from Europe to Pacific islands. On the other hand, it's also hard not to think of the most direct explanation for such a title, namely the guerrilla actions of resistance movements across Europe.

Tom Henderson is also a proven author of leaks about Call of Duty, as well as other games. Most recently, he was responsible for information on the upcoming Battlefield. So we're dealing with two potentially reliable sources, whose information may reinforce each other. It should be remembered, that this is still unofficial information. We'll have to wait for Activision's statement to be able to confirm anything.
