Bungie's New Game Won't be Released Until 2025
The creative director of Bungie revealed that a new IP, unrelated to the Destiny series, will not be released until 2025. In addition, the company's flagship title will receive several years of support.
In an interview with the Japanese website 4gamer, the creative director of Bungie, Jacob Benton, answered questions related not only to the future of the Destiny series, but also the plans for a new title. He did not reveal any details, but confirmed that the effects of their work will be revealed only in 2025.
Benton's words coincide with previous announcements from the company. A year and a half ago, Bungie CEO Pete Parsons announced that at least one game unrelated to the Destiny universe should be released by the end of 2025. It is worth recalling that since June 2020, the company is looking for developers to work on a new online fantasy title.
As for Destiny 2, this popular looter-shooter will receive three more expansions. The first, The Witch Queen, will launch in early 2022. The second - with the working title Lightfall - won't be released until 2023. The third story expansion has been announced for 2024 and will wrap up the Light and Darkness saga (begun in first Destiny). Benton announced that the epilogue will not mark the end of Destiny2, as the creators have ideas for further development of the title and the story taking place after the events, the content of which we will know only in three years.
