Blizzard Hears Diablo 4 Fans, Yet Some Changes Not Coming Before Season 4 or 5
The Constructs season in Diablo 4 will not bring the expected improvements to the item system. Blizzard may implement some of the changes suggested by fans, but only one or two seasons into the future.
The new chapter of of Diablo IV is approaching fast and will bring a handful of new features. Among them will be small changes eagerly awaited by players, such as the ability to move the character using the "WASD" keys and improvements to the Helltide.
Unfortunately, there's also bad news. Blizzard may not include all changes based on player feedback until the fourth or even fifth season of Diablo 4.
Designer Nathan Scott (via GamesRadar) stated that the company is only now taking a closer look at the successful elements of Season 2. And simultaneously, those that disappointed. Timothy Ismay, lead producer of Diablo IV, added that some fixes are "more expensive" to implement than others. That's why the third season only includes part of the planned changes that were based on community feedback.
The creators essentially confirmed what the players knew long before the official announcement of the Season of Constructs. At the beginning of December, Blizzard announced that the overhaul of the item system was so serious that we would not see its effects before Season 4. These fixes were missing from the changelog, much to the annoyance of fans who have been complaining about this element almost since D4's release.
GamesRadar also obtained interesting information about add-ons. Subsequent seasons of Diablo 4 will not be linked with expansions. Nathan Scott explains that treating seasonal threads as separate content allows players to return after a longer break without the need to catch up on a lot of story. In other words, you won't need to know the story from the first or second season to enjoy the story in Vessel of Hatred.
The Season of Constructs will begin in Diablo IV on January 23.
