Recently, we highlighted some of the best campaigns in the Call of Duty series, including Call of Duty: Black Ops, Call of Duty: World at War, and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Now, it looks like Black Ops 6 may join this prestigious list. The latest installment of the Call of Duty series has launched, giving players the chance to dive in. The game is now available on PC (Steam, Battle.net, and the Microsoft Store), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Opinions about BO6’s campaign

Having played, players are already sharing positive feedback about the quality of the Black Ops 6 campaign. The consensus? It’s a hit. Fans are praising the well-crafted storyline, compelling characters, and engaging gameplay. Given this reaction, it’s safe to say this is one of the best campaigns the Call of Duty series has seen in years.

It’s rewarding to see that nearly four years of development have paid off. This shows that even a series like Call of Duty can deliver a fun narrative when given time to evolve. Developed by Treyarch, Black Ops 6 has impressed fans, who agree the studio stepped up to the challenge, delivering a good campaign. But let’s move beyond general feedback and highlight some specific player opinions on the BO6 storyline.

I just finished it up a few minutes ago. Thought it was a very solid story. The last 2 missions were a bit of a drag, but it was IMO pretty well executed. Story was decent, the "open" level design that was pushed in MWIII was somewhat properly executed in this one, great music, a few creative missions (cannot mention more due to spoilers) and some throwbacks to the older CoDs – snippit132.

Here, a Reddit user not only praises the storyline but also highlights the music, which always help to set the right atmosphere. Let’s take a look at one more opinion:

Loved it. Ngl the story was a bit meh, but maybe cause I didn’t play Cold Warfare, but holy crap were the missions fun – III-Ball6220.

As we can see, even fans who aren’t completely satisfied with the story agree that Black Ops 6 offers some highly enjoyable missions. This is exciting news, especially since it's been a while since we’ve had a strong campaign in the Call of Duty series.

It’s also worth noting that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is receiving very positive reviews on Steam. Players frequently mention the enjoyable main story campaign, praise the Omnimovement system, and highlight the PvP mode. However, some critiques focus on the content in Zombie mode and a few technical issues. Fortunately, we can likely expect devs to address these concerns in the coming weeks.

How long is BO6 campaign

The Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 campaign is one of the longest CoD campaigns ever made. Players are not only praising the quality of the storyline but also its length. On X, one player shared that they’ve been playing the campaign for nine hours and still haven’t finished it. It’s worth noting that completion time can vary depending on the player, as there’s a full gameplay walkthrough online that runs six and a half hours.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is also available on Xbox Game Pass.
