After recent disturbing reports on BioShock 4, the new information may provide some consolation. The only problem may be the distant release date.

We have two news for those waiting for information on BioShock 4. The first - the good one - says that the next installment of the iconic action game series is still in development. While the second - concerning the release date of the title - is already much less optimistic.

According to the information posted by Mack Sztaba (senior concept artist at Cloud Chamber) on his Art Station profile (via Tech4Gamers), the debut of BioShock 4 is not scheduled until 2028.

So it seems that reports that the project was experiencing serious problems had a grain of truth in them. Recall that a few months ago, industry leaker Oops Leaks reported that BioShock 4 was in so-called "development hell" for a long time, and due to the lack of a good enough storyline, the game was said to have been rebooted several times.

Given such a distant release date, it is safe to assume that the project is still in the very early stages of development. It is likely that Cloud Chamber and 2K will release a new BioShock only for the next generation of consoles.

Will we actually wait that long? Or maybe 2028 is just a placeholder date, and the actual release date is even further away. There is nothing left for us to do but to be patient and await more announcements from Cloud Chamber.

There is little known about BioShock 4. According to earlier rumors the action of the game will take place in a dystopian city located somewhere in Antarctica. The game was announced at the end of 2019, but so far the developers have not been eager to share information about it.
