Biggest in Europe MadMax-style Larp Happens in Poland Next Month
If you're crazy about all things post-apo, you cannot miss this one. The Oldtown Larp is a festival held on an abandoned airfield in northern Poland, where participants create their own factions, trade, and complete missions, shoot airsoft and drive modified cars.
The Oldtown Post-apocalyptic Larp has been around for 15 years, though the first edition of the event was formally a convention of Fallout and Post-apo lovers. Since then, it’s grown to become the biggest such event in Europe. This year, the event will again be held in Stargard Szczecinski, in north-western Poland, amidst the 450 hectares of an abandoned Soviet airfield, from 8 through 13 July. The attendants will, once again, have a chance to embody post-apocalyptic characters for five days of the event.
The mainstay of the Oldtown is the larp session that lasts continuously for 100 hours. During that time, the airfield turns into a true MadMax/Fallout city, with it’s own currency and facilities. The participants become their characters, and are free to explore the area, join factions, complete quests, trade, and develop the story. Don’t die – respawn lasts 8 hours.
The other part of the event is the party – the organizers will prepare a range of activities, including sports, games, and music concerts. Those of you not interested in active participation, may be interested in another event, called Weekend in Oldtown (admission about 7 Euros).
If you want to participate, you have to sign up through the official form. See the links below to find out more:
