Bethesda Shares New Details on Shattered Space DLC Set to Revitalize Starfield
Bethesda Studio released extensive new video footage, taking a closer look at the Starfield: Shattered Space DLC.
We're less than two weeks away from the release of the Shattered Space expansion for Starfield, Bethesda's space RPG. The wait for the premiere can be made more pleasant by the new video material shared by the developers.
The video is over nine minutes long and presents the most important information about the DLC. The expansion will focus on just one planet, which has been entirely hand-crafted (the repetitive, procedurally generated worlds were one of the most criticized elements of the base game). Players can leave and then return to this planet to continue the story, but the entire narrative of Shattered Space unfolds within this single world.
The devs are aiming for a cosmic horror atmosphere, but there will also be political games that require navigating between several rival factions. Players will arrive on the planet several weeks after a catastrophe caused by mysterious experiments that led to the collapse of local power structures.
In the material, we can see many locations and enemies that we will encounter during the game, as well as fragments of several missions. The DLC will focus more on close combat, as many enemies will be able to rapidly shorten the distance to the player, for instance through jumping or teleportation.
Shattered Space will be released on September 30, simultaneously on PC, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X.
Roads in the largest cities thanks to modders
Staying on the topic of Starfield, it's worth mentioning the Galactic Highway Network modification released a few days ago, which adds a road system to all major cities in the game. This comes in handy as Bethesda added the first vehicle to the game last month without modifying the maps, causing difficulties in using it in many places.
