As part of Season 1, Battlefield 2042 will receive update 1.2, which will introduce, among other things, improvements to Kaleidoscope and new models for some specialists.
Today will debut another update to Battlefield 2042. The patch will be marked with number 1.2 and will bring a lot of changes and new features, including:
- The Kaleidoscope map has been extensively rebuilt, which includes flag positions, terrain and the introduction of additional cover. The changes are expected to make the gameplay smoother and more varied.
- Devs changed models of some specialists so that they look more serious. You can read more about this in our earlier news on this subject.
- The 30mm cannons on the RAH-68 Huron and YG-99 Hannibal will overheat faster, so they should no longer dominate battles.
- A "Player Profile and Stats" page will appear in the game, enabling us to analyze our achievements and progress.
- The control assist system on the gamepads will be improved, so that it will be easier to track moving targets.
- There will also be numerous bug fixes.
The above changes are only the most important novelties. The full list of improvements can be found in the post on the game's official website.
Recall that Battlefield 2042 was released in November last year. The game hit PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 simultaneously.
BF2042 debuted in a terrible technical condition, which caused it to quickly lose most of its players. Long months of fixing finally began to bear fruit, however. The project is unlikely to regain its former popularity, but the player populatiom on Steam has recently increased and seems to have stabilized at a decent level with daily activity figures exceeding 5,000 people.
The game's reception is also slowly improving. On Steam, among player reviews of the last 30 days, 52% were positive, while among all user reviews since launch day, the percentage of positives is only 29%.
