Batman: The Telltale Series launches today, featuring only local multiplayer
The first episode of Batman: The Telltale Series will become playable later today. There is also an important update on the Crowd Play feature.
Only several hours are left until the digital release of the first episode of Batman: The Telltale Series – it will be unlocked on Steam at 10 a.m. PDT. Until then you can still pre-order the whole season one with a 10% discount – $22.49. Apart from PC, the newest adventure game from Telltale is launching on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and mobile devices (iOS/Android). Console versions will also receive a boxed edition, which is going to hit stores on September 13, 2016 (September 16 in Europe).
Batman: The Telltale Series – Episode 1: Realm of Shadows will introduce players to a new adventure of the Dark Knight. First and foremost, it will focuse on Bruce Wayne himself and the consequences his alter ego’s actions have on his private life.
Here we should mention about an update on the game’s multiplayer feature. Contrary to what we thought, Crowd Play will not support online play for 2,000+ people, but only local multiplayer designed for 4-12 players. Technically, larger groups of people will be able to play together by voting on preferred choices on their mobile or stationary devices, but they will still have to watch the gameplay on one main screen. This is because Crowd Play is not suited for streaming, due to big latencies. Perhaps this problem will be fixed in the future.
