Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition gets 2.0 update along with the Siege of Dragonspear expansion
Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition has just got a huge update that comes with the Siege of Dragonspear expansion pack. Patch 2.0 adds a new character class, balance tweaks, UI overhaul, modding features and more.
Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear is officially out on PC, creating an epic, story-based bridge between the two original Baldur’s Gate games. Along with the newly released expansion pack comes a massive 2.0 update for both Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edtion and Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edtion. In short, it brings the all new Shaman class, new Cleric kit (Priest of Tyr), Steam Cloud support and achievements, balance tweaks, user interface overhaul, and hundreds of bug fixes, including improvements to the Infinity Engine. All these changes were discussed in a 30-page PDF document – you can look for highlights at the official forums.
As for the new Shaman class, this is a balanced natural magic-wielder. According to the official description, Shaman “combines the spell list of the druid with the sorcerer’s style of casting spells from a pool rather than preparing each spell separately”. They can also summon spirits that aid them in combat.
On top of that, the update adds a bunch of fresh modding features, such as new opcodes, triggers, actions, and externalizations of the engine and mechanics – head to the PDF for more detailed information.
