Baldur's Gate 3 Players are Haunted by Creepy Men at Night; 'They are Judging' Claims Larian
Baldur's Gate 3 is a rather peculiar game. Players found this out once again when they noticed groups of naked men staring at their sleeping characters in the game.
If you thought that after the possibility of a fiery romance with a bear in Baldur's Gate 3 nothing will surprise you anymore in a Larian Studios' game, you were fatally mistaken. And although in the case of the new discovery we are dealing with a rare bug, it is strange and disturbing enough that it has gained considerable publicity on the web.
It turns out that some players have noticed groups of... naked men who, out of nowhere, appeared in their camp (at this link you can see how six naked men stand over an unsuspecting sleeping figure).
This is not the only situation in which the mysterious gentlemen can be spotted. They also appear when creating or editing our character.
Internet users quickly began to speculate that these naked men must have some use in the game. Initially, the developers from Larian Studios did not want to reveal what exactly is going on, claiming that the representatives of the realm of naked men (because that's what the players called them) quietly and secretly evaluate our character creation choices.
A little later, the matter was unraveled by a GameMe employee (via GamesRadar), who explained that the men serve, among other things, as "voice dummies"..
"When you choose your voice in the character creator, it needs to be assigned to a physical fictional character in order for it to play," he revealed.
Larian reacted to this information, explaining that "one of these random naked dudes will come out of the shadows, recreating samples of the selected voice.".
"Another use for them is to have a physical avatar in the background assigned to the character, while the player creates his character," the developers added.
Since naked men serve as mannequins during the personalization of our character, how to explain their presence during the long rest in the camp? The developers did not clarify this issue, but it probably has to do with storing personalization choices for our guards, who appear during dreams.
To sum up - the presence of naked men in Baldur's Gate 3 is essential, but their visibility in the game is simply a glitch. A glitch that can send many a player into deep trauma.
