Auto Age: Standoff to feature MOBA-style car combat
Could a combination of MOBA and driving game mechanics work? Creators of Auto Age: Standoff are exploring the idea, letting two teams of players fight each other while driving custom-built vehicles.
MOBA games are abundant these times with League of Legends, Dota 2 and Heroes of the Storm occupying the throne. Smaller titles try to copy the big players’ ideas for the better or worse, but you probably have never seen a MOBA based on vehicular combat. Well then, meet Auto Age: Standoff, multiplayer online car combat game styled on a 1980s cartoon and set in the recovering New America of the future. The general idea is that while driving custom-built vehicles players team up against their rivals in order to destroy their base and cars and protect their own.
Auto Age: Standoff will feature story-based single-player campaign which, however, is only an addition to the multiplayer Battle mode and PvP Duel modes. Gameplay is to combine strategy with real-time driving and shooting action. Cars will be packed with deadly weapons, such as cannons, missile launchers, flamethrowers, and mines. You will be able to design your vehicle choosing from different bodies, equipment and tech upgrades.
Auto Age: Standoff is being developed by Phantom Compass (creators of Rollers of the Realm) and coming to Steam this fall.
