Atomic Space Command, a new game from the dev of SimCity, enters alpha
No You Shut Up!, a studio made up of ex-Maxis developers, present Atomic Space Command, an online space combat game. The alpha version is currently available for download.
When Electronic Arts closed the main Maxis studio last year most of its former workers found employment in one of the company’s other branches. However, four of them, including creative director Ocean Quigley, decided to establish a new studio, called No You Shut Up!. Now, the people who worked on SimCity and The Sims franchise released an alpha version of their latest project: Atomic Space Command.
The game lets players build their own space ship with all sub-systems and equipment, such as reactors, shields, weapons, life support, computers, etc. In order to command a ship like that you need a crew, whom you assign from your roster of characters.
When your ship is ready you are good to take active part in multiplayer battles between two rivaling teams that fight for domination over solar systems. Apart of the competitive aspect, Atomic Space Command emphasizes teamwork – cooperation is needed in order to capture and hold planets, build bases, and raid enemy structures. If you feel like taking part in alpha tests, head over to the game’s official website.
