Assassins’s Creed Codename Jade To Be Set in Ancient China
One of the new games announced by Ubisoft was Assassin's Creed: Codename Jade, a mobile spin-off set in ancient China.
Assassin’s Creed: Codename Jade – essential info
This mobile installment of the franchise is to finally offer the full experience to owners of smartphones and tablets.
- The game will be set in ancient China, the story beginning in year 215 B.C.
- It is to be the first mobile game from the franchise to offer an open world. The map is to be large and encompass a number of Chinese cities, as well as other known landmarks, such as the Great Wall of China.
- Despite being a mobile game, Assassin’s Creed: Codename Jade is to offer the classic gameplay formula known from PC and consoles.
- At the same time it will be the first game in the series to enable us to freely create our avatar.
- Neither target platforms (but iOS and Android are pretty much certain) nor business model (our bet is on F2P, though) have been provided.
TV series and mobile game from Netflix
During the show we’ve also heard of a TV adaptation of the franchise, coming to Netflix. No details concerning the plot or premiere day have been provided, but the company revealed that Ubisoft is deeply involved in its development. The showrunner will be Jeb Stuart, the creator of Vikings: Valhalla.
What’s more, a separate mobile game from the franchise is planne, available through Netflix’s app. Most likely it will be tied in with the TV show.
Other attractions
Finally, it is worth mentioning that to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the series Ubisoft has also prepared numerous other attractions, including:
- a symphonic concert with music from the games;
- artbook presenting development of earlier game installments;
- figurine of Amunet, a character from Assassin’s Creed Origins;
- Echoes of History podcast, inspired by the series;
- The Magnus Conspiracy novel by Kate Heartfield;
- webcomic sequel to Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.
