Assassin's Creed: Shadows on Long Gameplay. This Is How Ubisoft Developed Its Flagship Game Series
The highlight of the Ubisoft Forward 2024 show was, of course, Assassin's Creed: Shadows. The publisher presented extensive gameplay, giving an excellent idea of the production's direction.
Yesterday, a new trailer for Assassin's Creed: Shadows, the latest installment of Ubisoft's most popular series, was shown at the Xbox Games Showcase. It was the first material from the game in which we could see fragments of gameplay. Today, at their own show, the publisher presented much more, displaying several minutes of gameplay.
The material demonstrates the significant disparities among the characters. Choosing between Yasuke and Naoe will offer genuinely different experiences. The gameplay video also demonstrated significant advancements in the quality of the visuals, which is expected as the developers of Assassin's Creed: Shadows no longer had to concern themselves with the hardware limitations of Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
The devs also boasted about changes in weather, seasons, and day. In winter, the ponds will freeze over, making it impossible to hide in them. Enemies will find it more difficult to detect our presence in the rain, similar to during the night. In the gameplay, it was also impressive how many elements of the environment could be destroyed in fights.
Assassin's Creed: Shadows is Ubisoft's biggest game this year, and that's why it was the headliner of the company's show. The publisher's goal was to hype it up and they successfully did so, as the gameplay looks very promising.
Assassin's Creed: Shadows is being developed for PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5 consoles. The premiere is set to take place on November 15th of this year.
