Assassin's Creed Shadows May Launch with Online Mode. It Hasn't Been Present in the Series for Over a Decade
Ubisoft may be planning to add a co-op mode in Assassin's Creed: Shadows after release. It seems that we will play both Naoe and Yasuke in it.
Following the alleged behind-the-scenes of Assassin's Creed: Shadows' delay, Tom Henderson Returns with revelations about the co-op mode in the new "Assassin".
- The project is said to be developed under the code name League.
- Co-op is reportedly coming to the game after the premiere.
- When exactly will it launch? It is not known, because due to the delay of AC: Shadows' debut - from November 15, 2024, to February 14, 2025 – the release of all projects related to the series has been delayed. Tom Henderson, however, assumes that we will see this co-op only 18 months later.
- As you may have already guessed, and as Henderson suspects, the co-op mode in Assassin's Creed: Shadows will likely enable 2 players to control Naoe and Yasuke simultaneously, utilizing their varying abilities, etc. during missions.
It should be reminded that even if the above reports about the cooperation mode in AC: Shadows are confirmed by Ubisoft, it will not be the first installment of the series that allowed us to have fun with friends. In AC: Unity there was co-op – quite decent, but it did not gain much popularity among the players – while in AC: Brotherhood, AC: Revelations, Assassin's Creed III and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag we had a multiplayer mode.
If Tom Henderson's revelations are confirmed, we will bear witness to Ubisoft's first approach to network gameplay in the Assassin's Creed series in over a decade. Another in its history, although most likely not the only one planned, as the recent rumors about Assassin's Creed: Invictus seem quite credible.
Premiere of AC: Shadows is scheduled for February 14, 2025. The game will be released on PC, PS5 and XSX/S.
