Assassin's Creed Rift Delayed, Schreier Confirms
Jason Schreier has revealed that the second - besides Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora - Ubisoft game to suffer a delay is Assassin's Creed Rift, an alleged side-scrolling installment of the popular series.
Yesterday we wrote about the delay of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora to the next fiscal year. At the time, we mentioned that Ubisoft had also postponed the release of another unannounced title. It was speculated to be Assassin's Creed Rift, which, according to leaks, is a spin-ioff installment of the popular series. Now the speculation has been confirmed by Jason Schreier.
In an article published on Bloomberg, the journalist, citing anonymous sources, stated that Rift was originally scheduled to be released in February next year. However, it was decided that the release would take place in May or June. The delay is therefore not very long, but it is important for the company. This is because it means that the game will go on sale only in the next fiscal year (the current one ends on March 31).
At the same time, Jason Schreier once again reported that Assassin's Creed Rift is to be set in the Middle East. The game was originally intended to be an expansion for Valhalla, but it was decided to make it a separate project, which will fill the release gap.
In addition, yesterday there were rumors that Ubisoft is currently working on one more Assassin's Creed game, codenamed Red. According to Schreier, however it will not be a separate game, but part of AC Infinity.
