Assassin's Creed Red Said to Offer Destruction and 2 Playable Characters
Renowned journalist Tom Henderson has revealed some unofficial details about the upcoming Assassin's Creed: Red. We learned the approximate release date, as well as a bit of information about the gameplay mechanics heading to the game.
Renowned journalist Tom Henderson, who specializes in reporting on, among other things, Ubisoft, for Insider-Gaming shared the latest unofficial information on the game known under the working title of Assassin's Creed: Red.
The next installment of the series about hooded assassins, the action of which is to take place in an open world of feudal Japan, according to Henderson's sources is scheduled to be released late next year, in the run-up to Christmas. The journalist notes, however, that the debut date of AC: Red is still "debatable," and the French company is known for postponing its games.
That's not all, however, as the journalist revealed some other information about next year's installment. Henderson reports that:
- the game will offer two playable characters - which the journalist had already reported this March;
- one of them is a samurai of African descent (probably modeled on the historical Yasuke), while the other character is to be a mysterious female shinobi;
- the protagonists are to differ in their style of gameplay, as well as their choice of weapons;
- light and hiding in the shadows will play an important role in the game; extinguishing torches and avoiding illuminated corners are to be key;
- destruction of the environment, affecting gameplay will be introduced; however, it will not be total, such as in the Battlefield series.
Let me remind you that AC: Red is headed for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, while in less than a month, or more precisely on October 5, the side-scrolling installment of the series will debut, titled Mirage, which will hit PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xboxy Series X/S.
