Armored Core 6 Reviews - Good But Not 'Elden Ring' Good

Reviews of Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon are proof that FromSoftware has not forgotten how to make games other than soulslike. This is another excellent work by the Japanese, although not as great as Elden Ring.

The release of Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is only two days away. Therefore, reviews of the studio's new game by FromSoftware have begun to appear online. They show that Hidetaka Miyazaki and company have pulled off a successful return to this 26-year-old series, as well as have once again served the players an excellent production. However, while in the case of Elden Ring one could talk about a flood of "tens", here "nines" and "eights" dominate.

Our review of Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is available below.

At the outset, it is worth noting that the elements that form the core of Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon have performed delightfully. The combat system is very dynamic, and the difficulty of the clashes themselves has been properly balanced, thanks to which they seem neither too easy nor overly difficult. At the same time they are very impressive - the game's visual style is one of its significant advantages.

You can also not say a bad word about the extensive system of mecha upgrades. It enables you to customize even the smallest elements of the robot, which means that every player is able to find a build that perfectly suits their preferences. Sometimes it takes some time to find the right part, but the vastness of the possibilities fully justifies it.

Storyline of Armored Core VI, however, has been received by reviewers in different ways. Some praise it, calling it universal and even considering it too short. Others, on the other hand, claim that the story lacks flair and bored them heavily. So it seems to be a very subjective issue.

The game's flaws are definitely more strongly differentiated. One reviewer complains about the unreadable interface, another about the unintuitive controls, while another moderately liked the location designs. There's also no shortage of remarks that will be of no importance to a fair number of players, such as the lack of an option to transfer the game save files from PS4 to PS5, or the ability to gain S rank in a mission only when repeating it.

The glitch that repeats probably in the largest number of texts is the occasionally failing camera work. (not that this is something surprising in FromSoftware's games). On the other hand, it is difficult to find in them complaints about optimization or performance.

Thus, it can be concluded that the Japanese have not disappointed long-time fans, while delivering an Armored Core, in which players who have no previous contact with any installment of the series will easily find themselves. So, FromSoftware, what do you say? Now it's time for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, right?

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon will be released on August 25 for PC, PS4, PS5, XOne and XSX/S.
