Respawn Entertainment informed that more than 355 thousand cheaters have already been banned in the PC version of Apex Legends. For comparison, it is worth mentioning that in mid-February the count was only was 16 thousand. However, such a fast growth rate is not surprising given the great popularity of the game.
The authors emphasize that the fight against cheating players is very important for them. Therefore, the numbers of the team responsible for this has been increased. In addition, a cheater reporting function will finally be added to the PC release.
The creators also shared information about what they are currently working on. An update is planned to solve the problem of game crashes on computers with AMD hardware. Representatives of the company will visit Respawn next week to help with this task. The developers are also dealing with the error message "DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG" appearing on GeForce RTX series cards.
Respawn Entertainment is also investigating the issue of slow server operation at the very beginning of the game. However, there are no plans to add the function of rejoining the match after a loss of connection. The authors believe that the option could be abused, and also acknowledged that there are more important problems on which they must now focus.
Finally, let's remind that Apex Legends was released on February 4 this year, simultaneously on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The project uses a free-to-play model with microtransactions. At the beginning of this week the devs boasted that more than 50 million people have already played the title.
