The Next Story DLC for Total War Three Kingdoms is Mandate of Heaven
Creative Assembly has just announced the release of Total War: Three Kingdoms - Mandate of Heaven. The expansion, offering a new story campaign and many other novelties will be available in mid-January.
Developers from the British studio Creative Assembly have just announced Total War: Three Kingdoms - Mandate of Heaven. This is the third and, according to the creators, the biggest expansion for Total War: Three Kingdoms, the very well received strategy game released in May, which takes place in China, in the title are of Three Kingdoms, between 184 and 265 AD. The DLC will be available for sale on January 16, next year (the title is available in pre-order at a 10% discount). The announcements were also accompanied by a cinematic trailer and a ten-minute gameplay footage with dev commentary.
The DLC offers players a brand new story campaign starting in 182 AD. It enables us to start playing just before the outbreak of the Yellow Turban Rebellion, which marked the beginning of the end of the Han Empire and ultimately led to the division of the country into three rivaling kingdoms. The scenario, in which we can lead the rebel forces or the imperial loyalists, offers fresh gameplay mechanics, events and missions, more new historical characters and six new playable leaders (including Emperor Lang).
A total of forty new types of units will be waiting for us on the battlefield. In addition, the rebels will have new resources at their disposal, unique to them (zeal and fervour), which will influence the course of the conflict and the strength of the army. An additional attraction is the ability to control legendary heroes of the era, such as Cao Cao or Liu Bei, at the beginning of their military career. Total War: Three Kingdoms - Mandate of Heaven also introduces a series of fixes and changes in the base version of the game. Some of them will be available also for those who decide not to buy the DLC.
