Another Serious Sam to be a retro shooter published by Devolver Digital
It’s not Serious Sam 4, but fans of the franchise may be interested in the newly announced Serious Sam's Bogus Detour, a retro shooter to be published by Devolver Digital.
Devolver Digital has announced that they are going to publish another brutal, full-blooded retro shooter, which also represents one of the most famous IPs of its kind. It’s Serious Sam's Bogus Detour, developed by Crackshell, a studio that had created Hammerwatch in collaboration with Croteam, the authors of the Serious Sam franchise. Serious Sam’s Bogus Detour is scheduled to launch on PC this summer. This may not be exactly what the fans of the series have been hoping for, but it will likely be a nice interlude before Serious Sam 4.
Serious Sam's Bogus Detour is going to feature classic arcade gameplay and top-down perspective as well as some modern mechanics, such as character progression system. Although it offers solo mode, the title is being designed with a view to playing in four-person co-op. Apart from a story-based campaign, Serious Sam's Bogus Detour is going to feature such game modes as versus, Deathmatch and Survival Mode for up to 12 palyers. Besides, fans can count on a level editor and full modding support.
