Mass Effect: Andromeda is now using the latest version of Denuvo
BioWare isn't giving up in their struggle against pirates. The studio decided to update Denuvo anti-tamper technology for Mass Effect: Andromeda to the latest version, only used by a couple of games.
Denuvo anti-tamper technology didn’t protect Mass Effect: Andromeda for too long – the game was cracked within 10 days from its launch. This happened when the game was using an old version of the system. However, instead of removing Denuvo, like others did, BioWare updated it to the newest version in the first game patch.
Although there is no official statement confirming that news, rumor has it that since the release of the most recent update Mass Effect: Andromeda’s its executable file contains strings of data that can only be found in all games powered by the latest version of Denuvo (thanks DSOGaming!). There are currently four of those: 2Dark, Dead Rising 4, Nier: Automata and now also Mass Effect: Andromeda.
Mass Effect: Andromeda launched on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on March 21 this year. Sadly, the game was, and still is, plagued with technical issues, despite the release of patch 1.05. While the update fixed some bugs, it also introduced new ones. BioWare is still hard at work to put the game in good shape.
