Announcement of New LoL Champion Meets With Enthusiastic Reception
The 11th season in League of Legends has just begun. Promptly, the developers from Riot Games have presented some of the novelties to be added to the game, including another champion, Viego. His announcement in the form of a few-minute animation quickly won the hearts of most players.
Yesterday the 11th season of League of Legends began. For this occasion, the devs at Riot Games prepared a 50-minute broadcast, which presented the novelties coming to LoL and more. One of the biggest attractions was the reveal of another champion - Viego, the Ruined King - accompanied by a great animation, which was watched by almost 2 million people in less than 24 hours from the launch and liked by 132 thousand users (you can find it below). The players agree that this is one of the better announcements prepared by Riot Games.
Viego is the 154th champion in League of Legends. His unique ability enables him to become a copy of his enemy (he can use the enemy's skills and items), which he helped kill a moment earlier. In addition to this, the champion deals damage equal to a percentage of his opponent's current health, can stun or create fog on the map that gives him camouflage and speed boost to attack and movement. A full presentation of Viego's abilities can be found here and in the video below. The hero will appear on the official servers together with patch 11.2, in less than two weeks.
Viego's story revolves around an attempt to bring his wife back to life. Over a thousand years ago, in an attempt to deceive fate, the Ruined King caused a magical cataclysm, which turned him into a ghost, who still obsessively misses his beloved and seeks to bring her back to life. The devs at Riot Games have announced that the following characters will be somehow connected with Viego's fate, which will enable them to present the events taking place in Runeterra in a slightly more extensive and detailed way. What's more, it's also worth remembering that part of the story of the Ruined King will be revealed through the upcoming RPG - Ruined King: A League of Legends Story.
We've also learned about plans to improve matchmaking system and to detect and deal with players who spoil the fun of others. We were also informed about changes in the ranked system - from now on only promotion between tiers will require winning a series of matches - and about planned modifications of older champions (beginning with Dr. Mundo). The most important excerpts from yesterday's broadcast can be found on the official League of Legends YouTube channel .
