Anno 1800 Receives Another Definitive Edition; Development Nears Completion [Update]
Ubisoft has refreshed the definitive editions of Anno 1800, while announcing another cosmetic DLC. Not that this will please existing buyers of the game.
Update: Ubisoft boasted that Anno 1800 has attracted more than three million players across all hardware platforms. On this occasion, all users received a new ornament in the game.
For more than four years, the latest installment of Anno has received numerous updates. Therefore, Ubisoft saw fit to release a a new edition of Anno 1800: the Definitive Annoversary Edition. It is now available on Steam for $129.99.
According to the subtitle, this is a complete edition of Anno 1800, including all the DLCs of the four seasons, deluxe packs, bonuses and 16 cosmetic packs. Or actually 13, because three of them are brand new DLCs that will be released next year. No details were given about their content.
In addition, Ubisoft has refreshed the gold edition of the game. It now includes almost all gameplay-changing content, which means pretty much everything except the cosmetic DLCs. These, in turn, can be purchased as part of the second complete set of "cosmetics" for $34.99.
Of course, all these packages are aimed at people who have not started their adventure with Anno 1800. Existing buyers are not thrilled that they had to pay much more for a complete set of DLCs, and Ubisoft has not mentioned anything about "compensation" for them (via Steam).
Anno 1800 is also available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles, but none of the new packs are available on these platforms.
