Alleged GTA 6 Leak Makes Rounds Online; Author Claims to Know Rockstar Brass
Emotions about the upcoming GTA 6 trailer are reaching a fever pitch. Fuel to the fire has been added by an alleged leak, in which a TikTok user supposedly presented a small section of the city from the game.
In just two days we will see the first trailer of one of the most anticipated games of the last few - or maybe even a dozen - years, Grand Theft Auto VI. No wonder, then, that fans of the series are following all reports related to the game with bated breath.
The power of the GTA brand has even caused other big developers to start mimicking Rockstar's Friday announcement, and the most avid supporters to analyze in depth the artwork announcing... well, an announcement.
However, the real "bomb" associated with GTA 6 was dropped online a dozen hours ago. The Internet via TikTok was allegedly hit by a short video from Rockstar's upcoming work, showing a small slice of the city that is to be featured in the game.
The author of the alleged leak is user @azzarossi. Although he changed the status of his account to private after publishing the video, nothing ever dies on the Internet, and numerous copies are circulating on the web, including on X.
Doubts about the author of the leak
The case might not have been so high-profile if journalists and fans of the series had not quickly begun to verify the video footage, pointing out that there is a high probability that it is authentic. Editorial staff of Insider-Gaming for example, noted that the revealed section of the city coincides with last year's big leak.
Moreover, this TikTok user, in confirmation of the video's authenticity posted a photo of himself with Aaron Garbut, one of the heads of Rockstar North. On the Internet, it was reported that @azzarossi was the son of this high-profile developer.
However, doubts are raised by the response of the TikTok user under one of the comments on the aforementioned platform, who supposedly replied that Garbut's son "is the coolest guy he has met" (via Dexerto). This would suggest that the author of the leak only knows the developer's son.
In addition, on the occasion of this case, the web has seen another thing - allegedly seemingly by @azzarossi - screenshot of a conversation, supposedly with Aaron Garbut himself. This was to confirm the veracity of the leak in question, and additionally inform that the game will have three main cities, four towns and a large lake in the middle, as well as that the map will be twice as large than the one in GTA V.
Despite everything I've described here, I urge you to keep calm from the above "revelations." We are still in the realm of rumors and conjecture, and nothing that has been revealed on the Internet on this occasion can be taken for granted.
