New Gameplay From Alan Wake 2 Introduces Sam Lake's Character
A new gameplay video from Alan Wake 2 has appeared online. The footage shows an encounter between the title character and a character named Alex Casey, played by none other than Sam Lake - the „face” of Remedy Entertainment.
Today, IGN channel shared several minutes of footage from the upcoming survival horror game Alan Wake 2. It shows new gameplay fragments, but it's the introduction of a certain character that is the most interesting part of the video.
The title character of the game is trying to go through The Dark Place. A writer trapped in this part of nightmarish New York meets Alex Casey. This character is played by Sam Lake, the creative director of Remedy, and at the same time the director of the second Alan Wake. You will see the conversation between the characters in the video below.
Alex Casey is the title character of the series of books written by Alan Wake. In the new video he explains to the writer that he is investigating a murder. It turns out that a certain part of the novel can help solve it. Alan Wake looks confused after hearing Alex's words, but the men are prevented from finishing their conversation by creepy noises in the background. As Casey disappears, we can watch a segment in which Alan shoots menacing opponents.
Sam Lake, who plays the role of Alex, may be familiar to you from, among others, another game series originally developed by Remedy Entertainment. The developer played the title character in the first installment of Max Payne. Interestingly, the voice of Alex (via IGN) in the game in question is provided by James McCaffrey (just like Max).
Alan Wake 2 will be released on October 27 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
