Age of Empires 4 on New Trailers; Abbasids and Sea Battles
New Age of Empires 4 trailers show off naval fleets and introduce the Abbasid civilization and its camel riders. It will be hard to get bored in the upcoming RTS.
- The game will be available from October 28, 2021 on Steam and Xbox Game Pass;
- On the day of release it will be possible to play with one of the eight civilizations;
- Four historical campaigns based on the fate of the Mongols, Normans, Russians, French and British will be waiting for the players.
On July 30, two new trailers presenting the content of the upcoming continuation of the famous RTS series were published. In the first one, we can take a close look at the features of the Muslim civilization of the Abbasid dynasty (based on the Abbasid caliphate and the Mameluke sultanate that ruled over the Islamic world for almost 800 years). Its distinctive unit will be camel riders and its special building will be the House of Wisdom.
The second trailer shows the naval skirmishes offered by Age of Empires 4, in which we will use fleets of warships. Like in previous installments, water and land alike will become battlefields. At first glance, the trailers do not indicate that the game is to burden our PCs very much. However, this will not happen at the expense of the game's appearance.
Graphically the game looks good - the technological progress compared to the previous installment is visible Age of Empires. The title resembles similar contemporary games, such as Stronghold: Lords of War. Buildings have been nicely designed, and the appearance of units, although sparse in detail, reflects their character. The three-dimensionality of the game enriches the maps with uneven terrain, which we will probably be able to use to tactically dominate our opponents.
Age of Empires 4 offers eight civilizations. Apart from the Abbasid dynasty, announced at the end of July, we'll be able to check ourselves as the leaders of the Chinese, English, French, Mongols, Rus, Sultanate of Delhi or Holy Roman Empire. Relic Entertainment's new game will offer four historical campaigns on day one - Moscow Uprising, Mongol Empire, Norman Campaign and Hundred Years' War.
Age of Empires 4 will launch on October 28, 2021, and will be available on PC on Steam and as part of Xbox Game Pass.
