Relic Entertainment has lost Quinn Duffy, the director of Age of Empires 4.
We have disturbing news for fans of Relic Entertainment. Quinn Duffy, who led the team responsible for Age of Empires IV has left the company.
The developer was one of the most important people in the studio. He was associated with Relic Entertainment for almost a quarter of a century. He joined the team in 1998 as a developer responsible for the economic layer of Homeworld. Afterwards, he was one of the designers of Impossible Creatures and Company of Heroes, the main designer of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine and leader of teams responsible for Company of Heroes 2 and Age of Empires IV.
The source of information about the developer's departure is his profile on LinkedIn. We read there that Quinn Duffy left Relic Entertainment this month. He stressed that he is proud of what he and his team managed to achieve in Age of Empires IV.
The profile also shows that he is between jobs, which suggests that he does not intend to retire. We are currently waiting for news on what his further career plans will be.
