A new update for Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition has been released. The biggest highlight of the patch is the addition of a co-op mode.
How co-op works in AoE3: DE
- Co-op enables two players to play together.
- Co-op is available for historical battles.
- In the case of historical battles from DLCs, it is sufficient that one player in the group owns the DLC in question for the rest of the co-op participants to be able to take part in the game.
- The AI in each battle has been appropriately modified so that it can engage in effective combat against two human opponents.
Battles available in co-op mode
There are twelve battles available in the co-op mode. Six of them come from the basic version of Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition and the rest from the expansions.
Battles from the base game:
- Algiers (1516)
- Christopher Da Gama's Expedition (1542)
- Chuvash Cape (1582)
- Raid on the Caribbean (1586)
- Fort Duquesne (1754)
- Battle of New Orleans (1815)
Battles that require the The African Royals expansion:
- The Battle of the Three Kings (1578)
- The Fall of the Hausa (1804)
- The Era of the Princes (1855)
Battles requiring the United States Civilization expansion:
- The Burning of the USS Philadelphia (1803)
Battles that require the Mexico Civilization expansion:
- Grito de Dolores (1810)
Battles that require both United States Civilization and Mexico Civilization:
- Battle of Queenston Heights (1812)
It is worth mentioning that recently new attractions for co-op fans appeared in another remaster from this franchise - Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition. The patch released a few days ago added two co-op campaigns and an event focusing on this mode.
