Activision is Working on More Remasters
Activision is making a few more remasters / remakes of its old hits. The games will be launched this year. The source of information is an investors call, during which the company summarized its quarterly financial results.
IN A NUTSHELL:
- Activision is planning to make more remasters and remakes;
- The games will be released in 2020;
- Details will be revealed at a later date.
Activision is working on several more remasters of games from its publishing catalogue. They will hit the market this year. This information was posted on Twitter thanks to Daniel Ahmad, an analyst at Niko Partners (the original source is an investor call, summarizing the quarterly financial results of the said company).
"In addition, our business units will continue to tap into our portfolio of beloved IP to bring several remastered and reimagined experiences to our players in 2020, which we’ll announce closer to launch," said Activision's CFO, Dennis Durkin (after Twinfinite).
It is worth recalling that in recent years the company in question has already released several refreshed versions of its old games. We are talking about such productions as Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled or Spyro Reignited Trilogy. Actually, in all cases, they were successful remasters or even remakes, which were well received by critics and players alike. Their creators have captured the spirit of the original titles, but they have improved some of their shortcomings and prepared completely new visuals, worthy of the 21st century.
So far it is not known what new remasters may be involved, but Activision has a lot of popular brands such as Pitfall.
