Ace Combat 7 Achieves Nice Round Sales Figure; Sequel Inbound
Sales of Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown have surpassed 5 million copies. The developers' actions in recent months suggest that work on the sequel is gaining momentum.
The official X profile of Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown posted information that more than 5 million copies of the game have already been sold - a result that has doubled since 2021. On this occasion, the developers published a special wallpaper, which can be downloaded from the official website
The next installment of the Ace Combat series is in the pipeline. In July 2022, the team at Project Aces, which has been developing games in the Ace Combat series for years, transformed into Bandai Namco Aces and is currently recruiting for work on a new "flight simulator," suggesting that work on Ace Combat 8 is gaining momentum. According to unofficial reports, which are cited by Xfire, the game's release could take place between 2025 and 2028.
Until November 28 on Steam, the seventh installmenbt can be purchased 80% off, for less than $10. The sale includes both the basic version and the Top Gun: Maverick Aircraft Set DLC.
Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown was released on January 18, 2019 on PS4 and Xbox One consoles, and not much later, on February 1, 2019, also on PC. Since then, the game has collected nearly 30,000 reviews on Steam, of which as much as 87% are positive. The title also enjoys high ratings on OpenCritic, where it has 119 critic reviews, with an average score of 81/100.
Finally, let me remind you that this is a game in which we take on the role of a jet pilot. The gameplay mechanics are far from the realism known from such titles as Digital Combat Simulator World, focusing more on dynamic action, although simulator lovers have an alternative control mode at their disposal.
