AC Valhalla Used to Advertise Tourism

The release of the Wrath of the Druids DLC for Assassin's Creed: Valhalla has become an opportunity to advertise tourism. An organization under the government of Northern Ireland spent almost 50 thousand euros for this purpose.

The Wrath of the Druids expansion for Assassin's Creed: Valhalla was released in May. One of the biggest attractions of this DLC was the excellently implemented virtual Ireland. As reported by Wirtualnemedia.pl [in Polish], The release of the DLC was used by Tourism Ireland, a governmental organization advertising Northern Ireland. Together with popular streamers it organized a campaign, which cost 49,405 euros. It was the first time when such a cooperation with content creators was established.

It was not revealed how much of this amount went to individual creators. However, the viewing figures have been revealed.

The British part of the action is currently in progress. However, the materials prepared by Tourism Ireland itself have been viewed 50 thousand times.

The organization explains that the aim of the campaign was to increase interest in Northern Ireland in the world. The group hopes that after visiting virtual versions of famous locations such as the Giant's Causeway, Ben Bulben and the Hill of Tara, players will want to visit them in the real world as well.

AC: Valhalla was released in November last year on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4 and PS5, as well as Google Stadia. Wrath of the Druids is the first major DLC for the game. The next expansion, titled The Siege of Paris, will be released the day after tomorrow, which is August 12.
