New RPG Set to Portray Real Piracy. Flint: Treasure of Oblivion Devs Inspired by Iconic Treasure Island
Savage Level Studio and Mircroids presented the first trailer for the pirate tactical RPG Flint: Treasure of Oblivion today. We immediately got to know the game's estimated release date.
If Skull and Bones has let you down, it's worth keeping an eye on another pirate game, which will hit the market in the second half of 2024. The recently announced tactical RPG Flint: Treasure of Oblivion (no, it has nothing to do with The Elder Scrolls series) is set to show us what piracy really was.
- Flint: Treasure of Oblivion is set to be released in the 4th quarter of 2024 on PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
- The game will be presented in isometric view. When it comes to combat, we will engage with opponents in a turn-based system.
- The story in Flint: Treasure of Oblivion is supposed to be told in a comic book style. This means that we will witness, among other things, characteristic scenes featuring speech balloon.
- The studio responsible for the title, Savage Level, emphasizes that they want to demonstrate what piracy really was. On their website, the devs write about the "inappropriate and caricatured" portrayal of this profession in pop culture.
The game introduces us to the main character Flint, who, along with his friend Billy Bones and his crew, embarks on a journey across the wide waters to search for precious treasures. It's worth mentioning that the story is inspired by the book Treasure Island written by Robert Louis Stevenson. The book tells the story of pirates trying to find the treasure belonging to Captain Flint himself.
During the game, players will be able to recruit new crew members. Each new pirate should possess distinctive abilities to use in strategic combat. These skills can also be enhanced with special cards.
Let's emphasize again that Flint: Treasure of Oblivion is the first game being developed by Savage Level studio, established in 2021. The title will be published by the French company Microids.
