New James Bond Game from Creators of Hitman Set to Start a „Big” Trilogy. „This Is New Bond Built From Ground up for Gamers”

IO Interactive, a studio known for the Hitman series, is currently working on Project 007, a game about the adventures of James Bond. Thanks to an interview the devs gave to IGN, we learned a little more about this production.

  1. This will be the team's first game that is not their own brand. However, the devs want to create a personal version of Bond, developed specifically with gamers in mind, not an adaptation of his cinematic incarnations.
  2. The game will offer a new, original story from the early stage of Bond's career, presenting a young version of this character.
  3. The creators hope that the idea won't end with just one game. If it succeeds, they plan to develop an entire trilogy. As they say:

"(...) what's exciting about that project is that we actually got to do an original story. So it's not a gamification of a movie. It's a completely [new] beginning and becoming a story, hopefully for a big trilogy out there in the future." Equally important and exciting, is a new Bond. This is Bond, built from ground up for gamers."

At the moment, it is not known when the creators will show the game to the public. However, work on it is progressing at a very good pace, so we shouldn't have to wait long.

IO Interactive will also be Project 007's publisher and the team's publishing activity will not be limited to this project. The company announced yesterday that MindsEye, an action-adventure game developed by veterans of Rockstar Games, will be released under its banner.
