A big update for Rainbow Six: Siege revamps Tachanka and adds a new PvP map
Rainbow Six: Siege team have prepared a fat update that improves some of the things that didn't click in this otherwise successful online shooter. Apart from overhauling one of the operators, the patch adds a new PvP map and some other tweaks.
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege developers aren’t easing off, that’s for sure. This successful online shooter has received a major update today, called Mid-Season Reinforcements. First of all, it brings about some major changes to Tachanka, one of the operators available since day one but rarely picked up by the players. In order to prevent him from getting killed too easily with a headshot while he’s using his turret, the turret has now got a front shield. On the other hand, a bit higher weapon recoil and spread will prevent him from mowing down enemy players appearing at spawn points.
Another important addition is the reworked Bartlett University map, which is now able to support PvP gameplay (previously it was PvE only). Besides, Mid-Season Reinforcements come along with tweaks to other operators and weapon balance as well as loads of other bug fixes – you can find a detailed list of changes on the official website. The update should be live today across all platforms: PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
For the past year, Rainbow Six: Siege has been receiving a lot of free content, including new playable characters and maps. Ubisoft is planning to support the game that way for another year. You can purchase Season Pass 2 in order to get an early access to new operators, discounts at the in-game store, faster progression, and two extra daily challenges – but this is purely optional, since all the content (except for some cosmetic goodies) will ultimately be free for all players.
