Rainbow Six Without Vice President and Executive Producer. Ubisoft Has No Plans for Replacement
Cameron Lee is no longer executive producer and president at the studio responsible for developing the Rainbow Six franchise. At least that's according to unofficial information.
Vice President of Ubisoft Montreal and the Rainbow Six brand no longer works at Ubisoft. As reported by Tom Henderson from Insider Gaming, Cameron Lee has left the French publisher after having spent just 2.5 years as the brand's head.
The American, who had worked in the industry for 20 years and was, among other roles, a producer of Dragon Age: Inquisition, did not announce his departure on social media, nor did Ubisoft. However, the company's employees were to receive an email informing them of Lee's departure from the company. The company is not currently looking for his successor.
The developer joined Ubisoft in April 2022 as Vice President and Executive Producer at Ubisoft Montreal. Ironically, Lee was said to be responsible for the "long-term strategy" of the Rainbow Six series, as well as working with in-house partners.
We have no indications as to the reasons for Lee's departure, nor even any clues as to whether this was his decision or Ubisoft's. One could of course try to link this to the French publisher's recent problems or even the recently launched investor investigation, but without concrete information this is just baseless speculation. The company has not yet commented on or even confirmed Lee's departure.
