7 Days to Die to Finally Receive Version 1.0 After 11 Years in Early Access. Devs Outlined Their Plan for Coming Months
7 Days to Die will soon cease to be one of the dinosaurs of early access. After almost 11 years, the game of The Fun Pimps Studio will receive version 1.0 on consoles and PC.
Not every early access lasts forever, sometimes it's not because the developers abandon their games. Survival 7 Days to Die will soon leave Early Access - after almost 11 years.
Richard Huenink, co-founder of The Fun Pimps studio, discussed the details of the game's "premiere." Furthermore, the devs published an extensive article in which they answered the most important issues related to the game leaving early access.
Let's start with a very vital point: after the debut of update 1.0, the price of 7 Days to Die on PC will increase from $24.99 to $44.99. The developers point out that the current price has been in place for eight years, and during this time the game has gained significantly. Furthermore, even without considering future discounts, the title will remain available for the same price until the release of version 1.0. So players have plenty of time to make a purchase decision. This will also equalize the price of the game on PC and consoles.
Version 1.0 will introduce additional new features to the game. Crossplay won't be available among them, even though it's already operational, it is awaiting certification from Sony and Microsoft and will only be included in the game in the first major update after the premiere (Update 1), which is scheduled to debut in the fourth quarter of 2024.
So what will make it to 7 Days to Die for the "premiere"? The roadmap released by The Fun Pimps team reveals that the new features will include additional animals, a gore system for zombies, more challenges, optimization improvements, and audiovisual enhancements. We still have to wait for more accurate info
7 Days to Die might be considered an early-access dinosaur, but that hasn't prevented the game from dominating Steam. The title remains a big hit and just 10 months ago, there were nearly 100,000 users in the game at the same time (which is a historical record for the title; via SteamDB). 7DtD can still be found among the most frequently played items on Valve's platform.
Version 1.0 of 7 Days to Die will be released in June on PC and a few weeks later on consoles. More information about the "premiere" (including the console release) can be found in the post on the official game website.
